Making the right choices
Feasibility Studies
If you're considering a significant Enterprise Content Management project you want to ensure you're making the right choice. Any introduction of new technology is going to impact an organisation and require changes to business practices. You need to know the likely advantages and disadvantages of these changes: indeed it is useful to know whether the project is viable before any major investment is made.
With our experience in a wide range of Enterprise Content Management projects we are able identify risks and quantify likely benefits. One of the most powerful justifications for undertaking a project is return on investment: the shorter the ROI period the more compelling the case. This can only be properly assessed in the framework of a feasibility study.

Project Management
All projects have a start: some also have an end. A successful project needs good project management. It is all too easy for a project to drift, exceed budget or disillusion the people involved.
Project management requires a blend of a sound plan, commitment from stakeholders and an eye for potential risks that could derail the project. We have used our skills in this area to successfully commission many Enterprise Content Management systems.
Compliance
It is important to know that you are compliant with the increasing amount of regulation and legislation. Even if you are not breaking the law you can still risk reputational damage if you fail to follow best practice.
There are three principal standards that apply when dealing with systems:
- BS 10008 Evidential weight and legal admissibility of electronic information
- BS 25999 Business continuity management
- ISO 27001 Information security management
You may not plan to be accredited under any of these standards but it is still a worthwhile exercise to understand to what extent you comply and where you fall short.
